Update: Our KLOR team for Pick Up The Parks descended upon the Crittenden Rd area of Genesee Valley Park this past Saturday. The team was able to remove 3 large bags of non-recyclable debris, 4 large bags of cans, bottles, plastic containers, and a tire. Overall, in all of the parks combined, 3.5 tons of waste material was removed from Monroe County Parks on Saturday, bringing the 5 year total up to 13.14 tons. After Crittenden, the PUTP Kickballer Crew headed to MicGinny's on East River Road for celebratory food & drinks. Original Post: As the largest and most frequent user of Genesee Valley Park, The Kickball League of Rochester is again putting together a "team" of kickballers to help give back to the parks we love to play in so much! Some of us will start to organize at 9:00am at the Round House Shelter over by the Moore Rd Fields, but we'll shift to the Crittenden Rd fields area by 9:30ish. Wear an old KLOR shirt to help identify our group if you show up at Moore Rd. Gloves and a water bottle are a good idea. We'll clean up the parks for an hour or so. After that we can head down the road to MicGinny's Sports Pub on East River Road to kick back and relax after a quick afternoon of work and hopefully play.
