Major Rule Adjustments (FROM 2011)

Neutral Zone

  • The area described from the pitchers mound to the 45ft mark on the 1st & 3rd baseline. No one can enter this zone until the ball has been kicked (with the exception of the leading foot of the pitcher, as their back foot should not cross the rubber on the mound.
Shirts are Required for Playoffs and Championships
  • Costumes and shirts are acceptable attire during regular season. Both captains can also agree to allow team members to play without official KLOR shirts under the “Let’s Have Fun Rule”.
  • KLOR shirts are required for playoffs and Championships, no if’s, ands, or but’s!!!
Clarified trapping of balls when it applies to fly balls and force outs.
  • Trapping is not allowed, there must be separation from the field/grass and the ball in order to secure an out. This includes base plays and force outs.  The player must be in control of the ball, not half player/half ground. Trapping against a base is permitted though. (ex: hand on top of ball, and resting on base.)
ARC
  • We replaced the straight 30ft line with a 30 ft arc. These will be painted on all fields. The ball must travel outside of this Arc to be a live ball. If the ball stops on the line, it is a live ball. Once the ball has been kicked, infielders can cross through the neutral zone into the arc and grab a slow moving ball, this will also be a live ball.
AMP (Aggressive Movement Plane)
  • This is a non-marked line displayed on the field setup diagram along the white first base. Anytime this line is crossed by a runner, they can be tagged for an out. Captains should instruct player to hook or turn right if they intend to only run-thru and stay at 1st base. Some players may forget this and accidently turn left. As most players will typically run through the orange base, this gives them about 14-20 inches of  wiggle-room if they do accidently turn left. So keep a close eye on whether the end up crossing this imaginary plane/line or not.
Rule Comments/Suggestions
  • We are always looking to improve.  Over the winter we spend countless hours reviewing the current set of rules looking for ways to make them more clear, concise and fair.  We would love to hear from you the players.
  • At anytime please feel free to send us your thoughts.  Items can include:
  • Clarification of the current rule(please include which rule)
  • Alterations to the current rule(please include which rule)
  • New rule suggestions
Misc. Announcements
  • Please do not walk through the Pavilion near fields 9 & 17 when events are taking place.
  • Any remaining waivers MUST be signed.
  • Do not drive on the grass or any service road especially at Highland and the back side of GVP Main
  • Fall Registration opens sometime in July and closes when full or in early August.  Available locations will be Ellison Park and Genesee Valley Park.  Fall Ball runs from the week of August 27th and runs through October 20th. Team cost (non-specialty shirts) is $500 with an available $25 Early Bird discount.
